The BBC is reporting that (Tory) government borrowing is hitting new highs. This is from the party that claimed to be the most responsible and slapped us with years of austerity measures to bring borrowing down.

The economy is crashing due to the Tories and now they have no idea what to do.

Government borrowing hit a new high in December, driven by the cost of supporting households with their energy bills and rising debt interest costs.

Borrowing, the difference between spending and tax income, was £27.4bn, the most for any December since records began in 1993.

Food prices rise under the Tory government.

Food prices rose 16.8% in the year to December as many families splashed out for Christmas, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

Basics such as milk, cheese and eggs saw the largest increases. Prices for sugar, jam, honey and chocolate as well as soft drinks and juices also jumped. However, price growth slowed for bread and cereals.

As the NHS crisis has deepened in recent weeks, frontline staff have posted vivid, troubling accounts on social media of what has been happening in their workplaces. Many have described the NHS, and often themselves too, as “broken”. They have related the difficulty of providing proper care, the impact of acute understaffing and their fears for the NHS’s future.

Lying Tories claim the NHS is sufficiently funded

Despite all signs pointing to an NHS that is stretched thin and desperately in need of more funding, the Torie government insists that it is properly funded.

Downing Street has said the government is “providing the NHS with the funding it needs”, amid warnings of a winter crisis at hospitals.

The Royal College of Emergency Medicine has said deaths of up to 500 people each week could be caused by delays in emergency care.

And the British Medical Association (BMA) has said future of the health service was “balanced on a knife-edge”.

Ministers will come under intense pressure this week to explain how they assessed that a personal protective equipment (PPE) company linked to the Conservative peer Michelle Mone was fit to receive government contracts worth more than £200m during the pandemic.

Angela Rayner, Labour’s deputy leader, has drawn up a list of parliamentary questions over the Department of Health and Social Care’s (DHSC) decision to award major public contracts to the firm and whether it took into account its tax record.

The Guardian reported last week that Mone and her children secretly received £29m originating from the profits of the company, PPE Medpro, which was later transferred to a secret offshore trust.

Dangerous Tory Plan to Delete all EU Law

The Tory government has given the civil service one year to retain any laws it needs even though it is highly likely to require more than seven years for current staffing levels to do so assuming that they did nothing else.

The government wants to sunset all EU laws despite recent revelations that the government was not even away of a third of such laws as they had entirely missed over a thousand of them. This would cause legal uncertainty, scare away business investment, and over-tax the civil service.
